What to Pack for a Napa Weekend

Wine country weekend style

Napa dressing works best when it is polished but relaxed. Days can move from a sunny patio to a cool tasting room and straight into dinner, so versatility matters more than packing a different outfit for every reservation.

The foundation

Bring one easy dress, one fluid skirt or trouser, two simple tops and a layer. Keep most pieces in a shared palette so everything can be recombined.

The layer

A cardigan or relaxed blazer is more useful than a bulky jacket. It should work over the dress and with both separates.

The shoes

Choose something comfortable enough for walking and one option that can dress up dinner. Wine country is not the place for shoes that only work while seated.

The formula

Day one: dress and flats. Day two: skirt, tank and cardigan. Dinner: same skirt, different top, refined shoe. Departure morning: trousers, tee and the cardigan again.

Pack fewer things. Make every piece earn the suitcase space.
